My Background
Dallas native Deric Durden is a testament to the power of transformation and resilience. A graduate of Samuell High School as a Texas Scholar, Deric's journey has been one of overcoming adversity and embracing personal growth.
From an early age, Deric displayed a passion for learning, participating in talented and gifted classes since elementary school. Alongside his academic pursuits, he excelled in sports, demonstrating prowess in football, basketball, and tennis throughout his school days.
My Approach
However, Deric's path took an unexpected turn when he made a mistake that led to a 17-year prison sentence for murder. During his time behind bars, Deric embarked on a profound journey of self-reflection and personal development, transforming his mindset and life.
Upon his release, Deric channeled his resilience and determination into building a successful career. Starting as a used car salesman, he quickly rose to lead the company in sales, showcasing his natural talent for
communication and leadership.
Overcoming Obstacles
Today, Deric thrives in the corporate world, holding a position with a Fortune 400 company. A competent communicator, he honed his public speaking skills as the former Vice President of Education of Toastmasters International. Drawing from his experiences, Deric has emerged as a sought-after speaker, aspiring author, and mentor/coach—a "Transformational Guide."
Driven by his passion for making a difference, Deric founded and owns Deric Durden LLC, the company through which he fulfills his mission of inspiring and empowering others to achieve their full potential.
